About

A Czech psychedelic band founded in 2019, blending influences from traditional rock, krautrock, and jazz with a modern sound. The current lineup consists of Jan Bukovjan on vocals, tenor saxophone, flute, and rhythm guitar; Ondřej Vávra on vocals and guitar; Viktor Eberle on vocals, keyboards, and synthesizers; Marek Sobota on bass guitar; and Matěj Šolc on vocals and drums. MGHC released their debut EP, Bay Of Roots, in 2020 on the independent Czech label Polí5. This was followed by an ongoing collaboration with manager Šárka Hlaváčková, and in 2021 the band released their first full-length album, Humidity Breaking Limits, on their own, shifting to a more complex and heavier musical expression. Their next album, Farm Alarm, released in the spring of 2023, is based on a greater number of vocal parts, acoustic guitar, and synthesizers, and serves as a powerful reminder of our planet's climate crisis. This was followed by two more singles (Felina, Giant Stabs), and in the same year the band embarked on its first European tour, followed by a second in the fall of 2024 and a third in the summer of 2025.

In collaboration with producer Pavel Kielberger, MGHC released a new double album, Sorcerers Laughing Out In The Heat, at the end of spring 2025. Based on this collaboration, the soundtrack to the cult indie computer game Felvidék was also created (spring 2024). This also contributed significantly to the band's popularity abroad, and they continue to distribute their music worldwide.

Over the past few years, MGHC has established itself as one of the most progressive Czech bands and has played concerts with, for example, California's Osees, the legendary Japanese band Acid Mother's Temple, as well as Acid Tongue, Tonstartssbandht, Lumerians, Triptides, and ROAR. The band has been featured in a number of domestic and foreign magazines and radio stations. Thanks in part to their genre mix, MGHC's fan base continues to grow. Since 2022, they have been playing regularly abroad and have already visited France, Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia, and Serbia.
